Fiscal Sponsor Program

At Artportunity Knocks, we know how difficulty it is go through the nonprofit application process. It is expensive and very timely. We are a 501c3 organization seeking worthwhile causes to join forces with through Fiscal Sponsorship. We will assist you with your Grant Administration, Donor Database Management as well as apply for certain grants you may qualify for under the new fiscal sponsorship agreement. We use the Model C approach to Fiscal Sponsorship, which means all funds that come in are RESTRICTED specifically for your cause/organization, however, we have the discretion to monitor the usage of those funds. The administrative fee is 10% of all proceeds raised under our Fiscal agreement. We used the Model C approach to Fiscal Sponsorship which means we reserve the right to ensure the funds are used to further the tax exempt purpose of the organization. Funds are funneled through the organization and then dispense to the program/organization less the 10% administrative fee. This is the ONLY method that we use. Accepting funds on behalf of this organization's tax exempt exempt status is strictly prohibited.
There is a $50 (non-refundable) application fee. Before you apply and pay, please read the guideline below carefully, as we base our decision on these.

Fiscal Sponsorship Guidelines

When we are reviewing sponsorship applications, we look to see if the program first furthers our tax exempt purpose. For example, our mission is to empower youth through POSITIVE arts self-expression, education and community service. If you are an animal organization, it will not further our tax exempt purpose and therefore, your application will not be approved. Furthermore, we do not exclude anyone from our programs, so if your organization is specifically inclusive towards a specific community of people (ie., Black Student Association, Hispanic Alliance, LGBT Coalition or any other exclusive group) your application will not be approved unless the program is OPEN TO ALL and not just your members. We do not exclude or include or the basis of age, sex, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. However, if you have a program that is OPEN TO ALL and also furthers our tax exempt purpose (ie., Atlanta Arts Festival, Dance Explosion, Schools), then you have a good chance of being approved.
Schools: All schools must have completed at least one school year and have a governing board. A site visit is required prior to moving to the next steps.

Churches: All programs supported must be non-religious, Arts-Related and not exclusive to your members.
Our FS field team will come out to meet with your project Director and discuss the logistics of the agreement. If you are a school, they will visit during school hours to ensure the environment is POSITIVE which falls under our tax exempt purpose. All fiscal sponsor applicants must be Georgia or California based.

Successful Fiscal Sponsor Programs

GLOBE Academy: Fiscal Sponsor recipient has raised over $90,000 using our Fiscal Sponsorship program.
The Robert Beardsworth Memorial Scholarship Fund: Through this scholarship fund, Artportunity Knocks will be able to provide FREE Guitar and Piano classes to low-income students who otherwise could not afford to take them.
All organizations/programs must be in the Southeast (GA, TN, FL, AL, SC) and must receive a site visit and/or IN-PERSON meeting with the organizer in order to proceed to next steps.
